Forged in the ancient lore and shadow-filled landscapes of northern Sweden, Eldfaerd has been crafting their distinct brand of Symphonic Folk Metal since 2019. The Östersund-based force summons the spirits of the past, blending brutal metal elements with epic symphonic arrangements and centuries-old Scandinavian storytelling. 

Influenced by the ritualistic atmospheres of Heilung and the fierce energy of Månegarm, Eldfaerd’s music serves as a portal into ancient history. Their lyrics dive deep into Norse sagas, local Scandinavian folktales, and ancient mythology-from the legendary dragon Fafner to local legends surrounding the mythical beast Storsjöodjuret.

Since unleashing their debut single “Ur Elden” in 2021, the band has methodically forged an impressive sonic arsenal. Their discography includes the acclaimed EP Skymningsland and heavy-hitting singles such as “Vildmarkens Barn”, “I Sjöormens Skugga”, and their 2026 battle hymn “Fafners Blod”.

Eldfaerd is renowned not just for their auditory weight, but for their striking visual presence. Performing in period-accurate medieval and Viking attire, they treat the stage as a battlefield. Through their close collaboration with the historical reenactors Huskarlarna, the band brings genuine Viking history to life on stage.
